End of the Year Wrap up!

As we wrap up the year, we want to pause (yes, actually pause — rest is still resistance) and reflect on what has been an incredible season of growth for Roots of Resilience Collective.

This year, we didn’t just talk about vision — we put paperwork, prayers, and a whole lot of late nights behind it.

Here’s what we accomplished together:

• We officially became a registered business (grown-grown!)
• We received our nonprofit status — somebody cue the praise break
• We finalized our training offerings, grounding them in culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and community-centered practices
• We began building meaningful relationships with organizations, advocates, and community leaders who believe in our mission
• We raised $560 in donations — every dollar reminding us that people are watching, believing, and investing

And while $560 might not sound like “quit your job” money (yet 😏), for a brand-new nonprofit, it represents trust — and that means everything to us.

Because of you, we were able to lay a strong foundation for what’s coming next.

What we’re building toward in the year ahead:

• Beginning to offer our services in person, meeting families and communities where they are
• Continuing to strengthen partnerships and collaborations across systems and sectors
• Completing facilitator training for the Effective Black Parenting Program
• Becoming certified in the National Training & Development Curriculum (NTDC) for foster parent classes
• Officially becoming a registered business in Nebraska, allowing us to expand our services across state lines
• Welcoming more volunteers who are passionate about community care, advocacy, and building something bigger than themselves

In other words: we’re not just dreaming — we’re doing. Brick by brick. Relationship by relationship. Training by training.

To our supporters, donors, collaborators, hype crew, and folks who shared a post, sent an encouraging text, or said “I see you” — thank you for rocking with us. Truly. We are rooted in community, and your support reminds us that we don’t have to do this work alone.

We’re stepping into the new year grounded, grateful, and ready. And if this year taught us anything, it’s that when Black communities invest in themselves… growth is inevitable.

P.S. If you were looking for a sign to donate, volunteer, collaborate, or just tell a friend about us — this is it 😉

With deep appreciation and big plans ahead,

Roots of Resilience Collective
